I photographed this sweet family in their home when their second little girl was born and when they welcomed their baby boy, they invited me back for another in-home newborn photography session. It is always such an honor working with the same family as they grow. These little girls were so, so sweet with their baby brother.
I am not afraid to photograph families with multiple children. As a mom of three and experienced photographer, there isn’t much I have not experienced. There is a certain level of chaos that happens when young older siblings are involved but the chaos makes it that much more fun. For me at least! At the end of the session parents are often worried the kids didn’t sit still long enough or rolled their eyes one too many times, but I always capture the magic in between and they are always surprised! That’s one reason why I focus on lifestyle newborn photography because kids are unpredictable. They need some space to wriggle and be themselves.
I absolutely love working with families who have just had their third child or who also have three children because let me tell you, there is just something about adding a third baby to the mix. It’s nice to be with other people who know what it’s like. I had my second baby right before COVID hit so I was stuck home with an almost three year old and a 2 month old when everything shut down. It wasn’t an easy experience by any means, but my daughter still napped and the baby slept a lot too so I had some down time during the day. When we added the third, my daughter no longer napped and my son only napped sporadically so I was on all day and all night from the start. These beautiful, delicious little humans require a lot of attention and ask so much of us every single day. Sometimes we wonder how we will survive. And somehow we do! One thing that has gotten me through the more difficult moments is my mom tribe. I have been so fortunate to find my people. The one’s who are in the trenches with me and who fully understand all the struggles. My number one recommendation for all new parents is to seek out your tribe if you don’t already have one. They are life savers when you just need to vent or someone to give you hug and remind you you’re doing an amazing job.
Some fun places to meet other families include:
The Well Community Collective in Belmar
The Bunny Hive they are opening one up in Fort Monmouth in Oceanport in the Spring of 2026 and I am so excited! They have locations in Hoboken, Bergen County, Haddonfield and throughout the country.
New Mom School in Shrewsbury they also have locations throughout the country

These are just a few of the many amazing places to meet and connect with other families. If we’re not going to live in a village, we have to create our own and these types of classes and places are a great start to building one.
