Trust. How You Know You Can Trust Michelle As Your Newborn Photographer

If you’re an expectant or brand new mom (or dad) searching for a Monmouth County NJ newborn photographer, this is for you. I know you have a lot of questions when you’re looking to hire a newborn photographer and one of those questions is “how do I know I can trust this person with my newborn?” Chances are most photographers you find on the internet are strangers to you.

You’ll come across many photographers with really lovely portfolios, so you know you’ll receive beautiful keepsakes but when you’re inviting a photographer into your home, you want to make sure you can trust them and feel safe having them in your home with your newborn.

As a newborn photographer I often handle the babies I am photographing, whether that is picking up the baby, repositioning the baby or swaddling the baby; ensuring I handle the newborn safely is a top priority for me. How do you know you can trust me and feel safe with me handling your newborn?

Well, fist off, I am a mother of three. My children are ages 8, almost 6 and 3.5. All three babies were born into my own hands. My three most precious gifts. I have become an expert diaper changer, nose wiper, boo boo kisser… all the things it takes to care for small humans. And before I became a mother I worked as a registered nurse on a postpartum and newborn floor at Monmouth Medical Center. I cared for moms and babies just hours after the delivery. I learned so much as a nurse not only about newborn care but also about the process of becoming a brand new mom. Giving birth and being in the postpartum period is an extremely vulnerable time that I have a deep respect for. It’s a time of bonding, a time of healing and a time of big adjustments. This time and you should be treated with tenderness and care.

During my time as a nurse, my sister had her first baby. Around this time I realized I wanted to focus my photography primarily on pregnancy, newborns and new families. I took courses on newborn photography and while I decided to stray away from the posed newborn style, I still applied what I learned about safety to my sessions. With nearly 10 years of photographing newborns I have photographed hundreds of babies and their families.

Don’t just take it from me! My amazing clients have left me testimonials and reviews which can be found on my website and on my Google page like this one from Heather:

“Michelle’s work is absolutely beautiful and timeless. She photographed my twins when they were just under 2 weeks old and again when they were 3 months old. She has such great experience working with babies and as a result is so calming and peaceful with them. She even helps calm them down if they get a little fussy.”

My clients often comment on how patient and calm I am. Before I arrive, it often feels hectic trying to prepare for the session, but once I am there and you meet me, you’ll feel my calm energy. I don’t want to be an added stress in your life. I am there to document you as you are and make you feel comfortable while I am photographing you and your little one.

If this is not your first baby you can be rest assured that as a mom of three, I have plenty of experience with not only newborns but also toddlers and young children. They bring a whole other level of energy and I am here for it! You will all feel at ease in my presence.

I created a little video so you can see my face and hear my voice so you can get a sense of who I am because just written words aren’t always enough.
