Welcome Baby Callum

When a family reaches out inquiring about a newborn or family photography session and mention they have a dog, my heart skips a beat a little. I am 100% dog people. Whether you are looking to have a studio session, in-home session or outdoor session, dogs are always welcome! Well as long as dogs are permitted in the location.

This family came to my studio before baby boy arrived to help decide if they’d like to do their newborn pictures in my studio in Oceanport or in their home. They were also able to see my sample albums and other products so we could make a plan for their final images. It’s helpful for me to have an idea of how my clients envision displaying their images so I can photograph accordingly. If a client knows they want a gallery wrapped canvas, for example, I know I need a nice wide angle option for them as some of the image will be wrapped around the frame so there needs to be some extra space around the people in the image. I don’t want to cut off any heads or hands! I was excited this family decided they wanted my linen heirloom album. Albums are my favorite especially for newborn sessions because we come away with a decent sized gallery.

Anyway! This family decided to do their newborn session in their own home. I’m glad they did because they did such a great job decorating the nursery. Their bedroom was also a great backdrop because it was really neutral so the focus was all on the family. I loved how they were all styled. Mama looked amazing in her Nothing Fits But dress and dad’s white shirt with khaki is pretty much my favorite for men. Then of course a simple white onsie for baby. I loved the muslin blanket and the sweet basket mama had purchased and wanted to incorporate.

Check out these wide eyed portraits of baby Callum! He was awake and content for the majority of the session which is rarity. We usually take multiple breaks but he only needed one! A sleeping baby isn’t the goal, a happy, content baby is. Enjoy scrolling through these sweet portraits of this beautiful family. You even get a peak at their album which little Callum will be able to enjoy throughout his lifetime.
